Let It Snow

Keepsake Box and Frame for Winter Gift Giving.

SHOPPING LIST

Small paper mache box

Fiber board frame

Adhesive snowflake scrapbooking embellishment

Snowflake rub-on transfers

1 spool ¼” blue velvet ribbon

1 spool ¼” zigzag aqua velvet ribbon

Painters 1 ½” masking tape

Water misting bottle

Paper towel

Glue

TECHNIQUE

Keepsake Box
  1. On a protected surface spray the lid with Blue Sky. Apply 2-3 light coats. Let dry between coats.
  2. Spray the box with 2 coats of Super Silver. Let dry thoroughly.
  3. Temporarily place lid on box. Apply masking tape around the center of the exposed box. Remove lid. Ensure edges of tape is adhered to box.
  4. Holding bottle about 15″ away, mist all sides of box with water. Immediately spray with Blue Sky. Let set for 20 seconds then lightly dab/wipe moisture from surface with paper towel. Where water droplets were the paint is resisted and shows the underlying color in a mottled pattern. Let dry.
  5. Apply rub-on snowflakes in random pattern on silver band and on box top.
  6. Wrap edge of lid with velvet ribbon and glue in place.
Picture Frame
  1. On a protected surface spray the frame with Blue Sky. Apply 3 light coats to all surfaces. Let dry between coats.
  2. Holding bottle about 15″ away, mist back of frame with water. Immediately spray with Super Silver. Let set for 20 seconds then lightly dab/wipe moisture from surface with paper towel. Where water droplets were the paint is resisted and shows the underlying color in a mottled pattern. Let dry. Turn frame over and repeat technique to front side. Let dry.
  3. Wrap ribbon around edge of frame and glue in place.
